Function: The Kitchen Supervisor will maintain health and safety standards in the kitchen and food serving area, track inventory, and provide oversight and guidance to all personnel assigned to the kitchen.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Direct, train, supervise and schedule all personnel assigned to the kitchen. Be sure that they understand their responsibilities and carry them out properly.
2. Prepare menus with guidance from Administrator.
3. Ensure that all menus are followed, food is properly prepared, and all meals are served on time.
4. Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in the kitchen, dining room, and all related storage areas.
5. Ensure that all personnel understand the need for good personal hygiene and cleanliness.
6. Ensure that food is properly rotated, and leftovers used as quickly as possible.
8. Enforce kitchen dress code and rules of conduct at all times.
9. Prepare and cook food.
10. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all food and related kitchen supplies.
11. Ensure the security of the kitchen, stock and the entire food serving areas. Nothing is to be taken out of these areas without the permission of the Administrator(s).
12. Check freezers and refrigerators daily for proper temperature and expiration dates and keep records of that data. Make the Administrator(s) aware of foods that need to be placed on the menu that will soon face expiration.
14. Maintain records requested by the Administrator(s) that are necessary for compliance with outside agencies.
15. Attend staff meetings as required by the Administrator(s).
16. Assist in the planning and determining of the quantity of food needed.

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma, equivalent preferred, or relevant experience.
2. Certificate of completion of ServSafe or government program/training for kitchen safety is required.
3. Knowledge of kitchen and experience with food preparation for large groups.
4. Ability to follow directions and to lead a team.
